Sophisticated and powerful

With the SunCarrier, the engineers at a+f GmbH have designed extremely safe, robust yet inexpensive tracking system. The result is a convincing product, an innovative tracking system.

In contrast to the increased vulnerability of conventional azimuth and elevation rotational tracking systems, the tracking systems made by a+f GmbH are so solid that the owner will be able to sleep soundly, even in extreme environmental and storm conditions. The wide footing dissipates wind force and snow loads to the earth safely, reliably and with absolutely no danger to the valuable modules.
In addition, the sturdy drive technology enables completely reliable operation. In order to guarantee optimal protection from corrosion, the steel components of all systems are galvanised.

Low-maintenance and uninterrupted operation

Solid and proven technology makes the SunCarrier robust and resilient. The use of fragile sensors was deliberately avoided, in order to ensure reliable operation, even over longer periods of time.

The SunCarrier is driven by a three-stage planetary gear with a gear drive ratio of 1:1,595 or 1:1,639 and a maintenance-free high-alloy anchor chain. Even in extremely rough environmental conditions, the anchor chain will not need to be replaced for at least ten years.

Autonomous and controlled

The products of the SunCarrier and SkyCarrier series monitor their most important functions autonomously. If the SunCarrier control system detects, for example, an obstruction on the track it will shut down automatically. It self-calibrates daily, adjusting to the south and all PLC control functions can also be monitored and recorded online at any time. The necessary administrative tasks can thus be minimised and also made significantly more simple.

Special attention was paid to stability when developing the SunCarrier. The system proved itself during wind tunnel tests at the Institut für Aerodynamik GmbH (Aerodynamics Institute) at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences.
