a+f GmbH is on a steady growth trajectory with the SunCarrier
a+f GmbH is steadily growing with the SunCarrier. Its story began in 2004, with product development beginning in September. A robust, low-maintenance and reliable tracker system for photovoltaics was the goal. The ideas, experience and know-how of a+f GmbH in mechanical engineering and the use of the sun as an energy source quickly proved to be a winning combination.
In 2005 we had already registered the innovation patent and constructed the first pilot project. The results were very encouraging. A forceful market entry followed in 2006 with the first SunCarrier in Würzburg. In practice it proved to be the basis of a very efficient solar power plant: with an installed power module of 30 kWp, the SunCarrier is able to supply 12 households in Würzburg with their electrical power (assuming an average consumption of 3500 kWh per year per household).
In the same year, the SunCarrier was registered with a European patent, and the new version of a SunCarrier was installed in Bielefeld, with a module area of 250 square metres. 2007 will see continued expansion, with market entry in Spain and Greece, and the installation of three new SunCarrier in South Korea.
