Do the SunCarrier/SkyCarrier Systems have to be brought into safety position during strong winds?
No. The forces which bear upon the system are dissipated directly into the foundation via the enclosed case of the steel construction, with no interference to moving parts.
The system proved itself during wind tunnel tests at the Institut für Aerodynamik GmbH (Aerodynamics Institute) at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. The result: The SunCarrier, with its robust construction weighing up to 12.9 tons, came through the tests involving wind speeds of up to force 12 with flying colors. The SkyCarrier is even designed to withstand wind forces of up to 140 km/h (86.99 mph), thus an ideal position towards the sun can be maintained. Ant night time, a safety position is possible.
