SunPower Corporation designs, manufactures and delivers high-performance solar electric systems worldwide.

In 1985 Dr. Swanson set up the SunPower Corporation to distribute high-efficiency photovoltaic-cells-technology for usage with solar parabolic mirrors. In January 2007, SunPower incorporated the PowerLight Corporation, a leading supplier of large-scale solar plants. So far, PowerLight has developed and installed hundreds of large-scale solar plants with over 150 MW worldwide and operates them.

By integrating processes and technologies within the complete value-added chain, SunPower plans to reduce the average total cost of a solar plant by 50% until 2012. SunPower is of the view that solar plants can produce energy at competitive market prices and will become a well-established energy source.

Solar modules for large-scale plants

SunPower high-efficiency solar cells and solar panels generate up to 50% more power than conventional solar technologies and up to 100% more than thin film modules. What you get is a higher energy output with less floor space required. SunPower issues a guarantee of 25 years for their solar modules – this means a consistent value and safety for the customer.

SunPower modules for large-scale solar plants are designed especially for grid connected plants, like those on industrial roof-tops or solar power plants. They offer the highest degree of efficiency that is available at the market, and have a uniquely design in addition.
