Holistic solution for renewable energies

a+f GmbH presents the first closed-loop energy chain at the Intersolar Europe 2010: From solar power generation with the SunCarrier to energy storage with Cellstrom energy storage systems and the “Münch TTE” eBike as a premium-class sustainable “consumer”.

a+f GmbH attends the Intersolar Europe 2010 in Munich under the motto: “Advanced Technology | Clean Future”. The highlights presented at the fair booth in hall C4 with a surface of 754 square metres include the world-first cellcube – a powerful and durable low-maintenance redox flow battery on a vanadium basis for energy storage, the new SunCarrier 120, which perfectly complements the SunCarrier product line as smallest system; as well as the SunCarrier 300, which is installed in original size. In addition, the “Münch TTE” eBike by Münch Racing GmbH will also stop by at the fair booth of the a+f GmbH on its way to a new speed world record in Munich.

Cellcube

a+f presents with the new cellcube a world-first that attracts the professional visitors’ attention. After years of research, the energy storage systems developed by the Austrian Cellstrom GmbH are now ready for production. The powerful and durable low-maintenance redox flow batteries on a vanadium basis are perfectly suited for efficient energy storage.

The large battery system allows the clean, emission-free and quick supply of energy at any time, thus allowing for a reliable power supply from solar and winds power plants even in the dark and when there is no wind. The cellcube FB 10-100 and the cellcube FB 200-400, which are also presented at the Intersolar Europe 2010 in Munich, enable a+f customers to use power produced from alternative energy carriers independently at any time flexibly or to control the time of power feed-in. All battery systems by Cellstrom are turnkey energy storage
systems (ESS).

The cellcube FB 10/100 can be charged and discharged with up to 10 kW (kilowatt), providing up to 100 kWh (kilowatt hours) of energy. The cellcube FB 200/400 features an output of up to 200 kW and a maximum storage capacity of 400 kWh. A large-scale battery enables you to charge up to eight electro-vehicles up to 80 % in less than ten minutes or supply power to up to 80 four-person households for a whole night.

SunCarrier 120

a+f GmbH has been focussing on the industrial construction of solar parks with its SunCarrier tracking system since 2006. All SunCarrier models and sizes are based on the concept of a single-axis tracking system that permanently aligns the module surface to the sun position via the vertical axis. This ensures an optimal angle of incidence for the sunlight and additional yield of up to 35% as compared to conventional solutions available on the market.

The new SunCarrier 120 – a smaller model with a lower installation height of only 4.3 metres – complements the bottom end of the portfolio. Due to its compact size, the system can be implemented easily in countries with installation height restrictions. The reduced height also results in a reduced wind impact surface, enabling an increased focus on lightweight construction during the development stage and a significant weight reduction of the steel beam construction. Though, the SunCarrier 120 remains extremely robust and can withstand wind speeds of up to 121.3 km/h according to the national UNI EN1991-1:2005-07 standards.

Virtual control centre

a+f GmbH demonstrates its comprehensive turnkey competence in solar energy at the Intersolar Europe 2010 with a virtual control centre and an improved remote monitoring system for solar parks of meteocontrol GmbH. These product introductions have enabled a+f GmbH to targetedly broaden its service portfolio and strengthen its international market position as a vendor of turnkey project solutions.

“Münch TTE” electro-powered racing bike

a+f GmbH will present the electro-powered “Münch TTE” motorbike by Münch Racing GmbH at its Intersolar fair booth as a special highlight. This bike enables a+f to impressively and convincingly close the energy chain from generation of solar power via energy storage to a sustainable “consumer”. The bike is driven by a synchronised electromotor with a maximum output of 90 kW, providing a broad rotational speed range and enabling a maximum speed exceeding 200 km/h. The programmable control ensures an ideal torque profile and a resupply of the braking energy into the traction battery.

Münch Racing GmbH participates in the new “TTX GP eGrandPrix” and “FIM E-Power International Championship” racing series with the “Münch TTE” and successfully finished second at the first race in Le Mans (France) already. The next important objective of the responsible managers of Münch Racing GmbH will be to go for the world speed record for electro-motorbikes, and increase the current speed record by around 20 km/h to a new “ecologic” all-time high of 260 km/h with the electropowered “Münch TTE”.
