2008-12-08 “SunCarrier“ to be erected for the first time in Italy
Bielefeld. a+f GmbH, a GILDEMEISTER group company, has concluded a further major order for a total value of €12 million. For the first time the “SunCarrier“ are to be supplied to Italy. In taking this step, GILDEMEISTER is now entering the Italian solar market.
In the Apulia region in southern Italy, solar parks will be constructed with total output of about two megawatts. The Italian version of the “SunCarrier” (about 250 square meters large) can supply 18 four-people households with electricity – at an average consumption of about 3,500 kWh per year.
Up to now a+f has mainly installed its modern solar parks in southern Spain, however, orders are now increasingly being received from Italy and Greece. In addition, the Würzburg company is developing further new products. The most recently developed product will be the “SkyCarrier“ and will be presented next year. It is an innovative carrier system that has been specially developed for countries close to the equator and thus meets additional geographically-determined requirements for optimum solar radiation. A prototype of the “SkyCarrier“ is currently installed at the test area in Würzburg.
